When will you tell your kids?

I was so happy to conceive my second that I started telling my three-year-old there was a baby in mommy’s tummy right away. I failed to realize that he could go around saying that out loud to other people. 😅 We aren’t  planning on telling most of our friends and family for a few more weeks when I’ve had my first doctors appointment so now I’m paranoid he’s going to spill the beans. Whoops! 😬

I’ve been telling my daughter, who was nearly 2 1/2 when we found out. She doesn’t seem to understand yet, but I’m not really worried about when people know.

I want to tell my kids (5,9) but my daughter has a big mouth (5) and I don’t want her dad’s family to know. (My Ex - we never told his family when I was pregnant with her either, they made my pregnancy and birth hell with #1) 
Dd has been wanting a “baby sister” for longer than we’ve been trying. She’ll be more excited than my husband and I, but I don’t want to tell her yet. 
Also waiting because we just had a MC in August and don’t want to explain if another baby dies.

We aren't telling our almost 8 year old for the same reason. We'll surprise her when we tell everyone else to prevent her telling everyone about it. We do plan on keeping her involved and having her attend ultrasounds.

We didn’t tell my son and he still said it- I think he just listens to us talking- luckily he only says 2 word
sentences so mommy baby is only so clear! When he touches my belly and says it, it’s a bit harder to hide but family all knows now so I’m not too concerned about him telling random strangers.

I want to tell our daughters when I have something to show, like the ultrasound. So whenever that is (I go in tomorrow to do intake and schedule my first one)...I’m 6 weeks right now. I know my 2 year old won’t get what’s going on, but my 5 year old is going to be so pumped!

We have a dr appt 12/17 at which I’ll be a little over 10 weeks and we will tell him after we know the pregnancy is viable. Not quite sure yet how he’s going to take the news 😬 we are announcing to family at Christmas and want to tell him first.

Both of my kids already know but I’m not really worried about them telling people, SO already took care of that. I didn’t take into consideration that he would be the one to let things slip 🙄

Haven't told my 2.5yo for that same reason. Had the first appointment at 9 weeks and he was there with my husband but he hasn't brought it up yet. I haven't actually told him there is a baby in my belly yet. We are doing a Christmas day announcement and then we will start telling him about it more.
