I just found out my sister is doing heroin. i don’t want that around my 7 week old baby and I don’t want her around him. is this overreacting? I feel like I’m not overreacting but idk what others think

Your baby, your call. Personally I would probably let my sister around my baby but definitely not unsupervised. I’d be watching like a hawk. Hope your sister gets help, that’s a long difficult road.

No your not overacting. I have a family member who I thought was clean(she was doing heroin and pills back in the day) but she relapsed and was put on methadone. Well she was at my mom’s house while I was there with my daughter(who was 2 months at the time), anyways my mom let her hold my baby girl, and not even 5mins into holding her, she was nodding out, I took her back and she slept like that for 3hours. It’s horrible to watch. But I wouldn’t let her around unless she’s not under the influence.

I don't think you're over reacting it is entirely your call. If you want her to get the chance to meet your baby you could set rules like she can see baby once a month and has to be sober when visiting or something like that, but if you aren't comfortable with it I dont think anyone would disagree. Addiction is a nasty thing, good luck.

I don’t think it’s overreacting. If I had kids, I wouldn’t allow someone who’s doing drugs to be around my kids. People who do drugs like that are selfish and don’t think of others. It’s all about when and how they’re getting their next hit so I don’t blame you. It’s also your child and you 100% have the right to pick and choose who can be in your child’s life.
