Fostering with medically complex children in household?
My daughter has a congenital heart defect which will require open heart surgery in a few years. We are trying to get pregnant until the end of the year and then stopping because we don't want to risk having a newborn while she has her surgery (it wouldn't be fair). I think I'm out this month... 11 dpo and bfn so only one more shot until we stop. I have always wanted to foster a child though, I'm adopted and we are well off and I think we would be able to provide an amazing home. We were planning to wait until after our biological children are older but I'm thinking if we don't get pregnant now might be an opportune time to start because it could be years until her surgery, we won't know when until we get there. However, I'm wondering if my daughter's heart condition would disqualify us from fostering? I read that all members of the household would need a medical release...
