When to switch to a carseat convertible?

I was wondering when was the best time to switch to a convertible? My daughter is going on 4 months & weighs 18 lbs , she was also 24” at her 2 month checkup which she does seem longer now.

The infant car seat we have is good up to 32 pounds or 32 inches whichever comes first. It should say in your manual.

You can switch whenever you want once they meet the height and weight guidelines. I hold onto my infant seats longer because it’s more convenient

Agree with previous posters. We have a 4 in 1 but are still using the graco click connect 40. I would have already switched it out because I don't carry her in fhe carseat.... she is way too heavy for that. BUT my husband still likes to carry her in the carseat so we are gonna wait a little while longer before switching

We already use it. I have both in my car so we only use the carry car seat for shopping trips but to and from daycare we use the convertible

Thank you for the great feedback! I am definitely looking into the convertibles now, I have a chunky baby so I feel like the infant carseat width wise its a little snug on her & not so comfortable!
