MIL-strictly a rant!

Ok, so I truly love my MIL, and we get along great-our relationship is even closer than the one I have with my own mom.

However, since I had my baby, I’ve been getting annoyed with her. She constantly makes comments on how I’m caring for my child, and gives unwanted advice. I know she’s trying to help, but it gets old hearing “I used to just do this...” or “it’s easy if you do that...”. I get it-after four kids you’re an expert, and since this is my first, I must be clueless. But unless I ask, no need to comment-we’re figuring things out and doing pretty good on our own!

On top of that, my SIL (her other DIL) also had her first baby, so after comparing our pregnancies, she’s now constantly comparing my parenting style to my SIL, and our babies since they’re only two weeks apart. This is especially annoying to me, since I had a couple of miscarriages before I got pregnant with my son. Had I not had losses, I would’ve had an older baby by 15 or 12 months.

This is just a rant, so of course I don’t plan to bring it up and cause unnecessary drama in the family! I just wish my MIL was mindful of everything we’ve been through, and keep her comments to herself. Thanks for the vent!
