Would you stick by your SO side if they got a DUI?

So my husband got a DUI. This is his first one. I’m honestly extremely pissed and really hurt that he would risk his life and other peoples. But to top it off he wrecked our only car while trying to get away from the cops. We don’t have the money for any of this. I’m honestly really considering leaving him, because I tell him not to drink and drive all the time! What would you guys do?

If he got a DUI.. probably.  Shit happens and sometimes people can get a dui just having a beer with dinner.
If he wrecker our car RUNNING FROM THE COPS. Fuck no. What the hell kind of irresponsible ass man does that? Fuck that. He's gone.

I would leave because he wouldn’t be the man I would’ve married.... drinking and driving is more than just wrecking a car or endangering your life, you’re endangering the lives of every man, woman and child on the road while you do it... you’re endangering your family at home who will be lost without you. 
No. It’s a red line for me.

My boyfriend got a DUI and I didnt leave him because it was a one time deal and the reason he got pulled over was because his head lights weren't on. (In our truck the running lights are auto and bright, I've made the same mistake of thinking they were on) HOWEVER I made it very clear how I felt about the situation, he had to take care of the court stuff by himself, and if it ever happened again I would be out of his life before he was even out jail. Now had he ran from the cops and wrecked our vehicle that would have been a different story I dont think I would have stayed, that takes it to another level.... DUI are very serious, besides making the desicion to put others peoples lives at risk, that will now follow him forever. 
It's a hard choice but dont be dragged down with him. Best of luck to you ❤

Nope. He’s lucky it was just a DUI. He could have killed someone. There is NO EXCUSE for getting behind the wheel of a car under the influence.

My husband got a DUI but here's my story:
He was with some friends and they all got drunk (I was out of town and he had his own car) but he stayed at his friends and slept. He woke up a few hours later feeling hungover. Thinking he was fine, he went to drive. He barely pulls out of the driveway and cops showed up and arrested him, but he didnt feel drunk. They did a breathalyzer and his alcohol level was .08 (I think) so they took him to jail. I texted and called him because something didnt feel right, but I didnt hear from him for 8 or 9 hours. Finally I get a call from an unknown number and it was him calling from the jail. Later that night they released him. Now, I'm still pretty mad at him for it but he is improving and trying to pay off his fines and taking his DUI classes. He is trying to do better and I respect that. I'm still with him and supporting him. It all depends on circulation.

If I were to honestly look at it, I probably wouldn’t leave unless he hurt my children or myself or cheated. I would be so pissed and might separate for a while though if he did what yours did.

Does he drink and drive regularly but this is his first time being caught? If so, I’d be out of there.

I would be angry but I'd stick by his side. Through thick and thin, always. Unless it's a regular occurrence.
