Rant: To the lady that said pumping isnt EBF...

The other day there was a lady on one of my facebook groups that said she didnt consider pumping and bottle feeding to be EBF. She only counts EBF as babies feeding off of a breast. I still cant get over it. I have two kids, both EBF. I have an 8 year old who had breastmilk for 18 months and im currently still breastfeeding my 4 month old. When im home, she nurses on the breast but guess what. Some people have to work for a living and have to pump. With my first, I was active duty in the freaking Army and i breastfed that entire 18 months. A drop of formula never touched my daughters lips. I would go on missions in other states and literally pump and mail it home on dry ice. 18 months. In the army.

People like this have NO idea how hard it is to maintain a supply. Have enough at home or at the babysitter for baby during the day, manage to get pump breaks during trainings or business meetings, or just during the day when youre constantly out and about. I get that im probably more upset than i should be, but is anybody else offended by that statement? Obviously I would love to be home to put her to the breast on demand, but thats not reality for a lot of people. Such a slap in the face to the hard work of a lot of working, breastfeeding mothers out there. Am i right????
