Back Problems
So while I was taking my birthing class I was told that if you have back problems, you’re chance of an epidural is pretty much out the window. Now, I do have a “bad back”; an old injury that most likely occurred when I was 3 years old after a motorcycle fell on top of me. All of my lumbar vertebrae are rotated to the left a few degrees so, luckily my back never actually broke just...dislocated I guess? They’re not fused or anything and I’ve been seeing a chiropractor for almost a year now. I’ve never had any issues with like disc slipping, no loss of feeling in my legs or anything, just some achines and minor limited range of motion. I’m actually fine with not being able to have an epidural because I want to do a natural birth, but I’m going to talk to my OB about it to see if there could be any other risks. I don’t think there will be though because I’ve had this injury for so long and never had any severe issues. Anyways, anyone else have a bad back and are pregnant/have given birth? What have you been told? What’re your experiences?
