When does the third trimester start?

I’m confused. I just turned 26 weeks today, and glow is telling me I have entered the third trimester! I thought that wasn’t until 28 weeks? Someone please enlighten me hahahah.

Whenever you want to say your in third trimester.  
I have heard 26, 27, or 28 weeks so I am counting myself third trimester at 27 weeks since its in the middle.  
I start third trimester in 3 days! Lol

In a week or two it won’t matter anyways as you’ll meet all 3 of those criteria! But ya it’s confusing. Everyone says it differently. Once the next batch of symptoms level up and the easy breezyness of the second tri is clearly in the past, that’s when I called it third tri.

It's confusing because 40 weeks isn't 9 months. It's more accurate to count by weeks though. As some "months" of pregnancy are more than 4 weeks. If each month was 28 days it would be a full 10 months. Which would throw all our counts off! It honestly doesn't matter that much when you count each trimester as beginning. I'd always heard 12 weeks was end of first trimester till I got there and was still considered 1st trimester till After week 13.
I'm sorry, I may have had a point before I started rambling. The pregnancy brain/losing train of thought just gets worse! And once baby's here I'm sure the continued sleep deprivation will only make it worse! Oh well, my memory sucked to begin with!
Ah! I think part of my point may have been that each trimester isn't actually 3 months so because of that which week they choose to call the dividing line is somewhat arbitrary.

I say 27w only because if you take your due date and go back 3 months, that should fall at 26w6d. Ie: I’m due feb 15th so November 15th fell at 26w6d.
