I have a son who is in 10th grade and so is his girlfriend. In January, they will have been dating for a year. They are very close and spend a good amount of time together. Do you all think they are having sex? I want to ask but I’m afraid he will not tell me the truth out of embarrassment

Just ask. I asked my son if he was having sex yet, he said no. But the reason Ik he’s not lying about that is because he asked me if I’d hate him if he liked boys & girls. And he told me he stole his dads alcohol and hated it & that he smokes. He said he hasn’t tried weed yet but he thought about it because he hates his father (Yes he lives with his dad) and yes he’s in 10th grade. ☺️ He thought I would hate him if he liked guys and girls. That almost made me cry because I’m very open minded & I’d never hate him if he was gay or bisexual. 😔

If we are talking about stereotypical high schoolers then I'd say yes. Unless you know her personal morals or his personal morals then there really isn't an answer for you. Though, me losing my virginity at 15, there is something I wish my mother would have done for me and that is just making a safe space for me to feel like I could open up. Maybe relate just let him know it's okay to open up. I mean at this point whatever is going to happen is going to or has happened cause that's how teenagers are but it's better to make sure he's being safe then have him sneaking around and potentially not being safe... lol sorry for the long rant but I hope it all work out for the best 💖☺

Does it matter?  Have you discussed condoms and safe sex with him?  If so, I don’t think it matters.  They probably are.

More than likely. But you'll never know. I personally think it's rude to ask if they are having sex. But just give him 'the talk' if you haven't already.

It’s certainly a possibility, but just talk to him casually, don’t make a big deal. He’ll probably be embarrassed because who really wants to talk to their parents about that. But just make sure he’s being safe and that you’re there if he’s got questions etc 🤷🏻‍♀️
