I Need help! And Advice!

Vonny

My daughter is currently 2 going on 3 in March and as some of you may know school is the next big step in her life.

The biggest problem that me and her dad face is we can’t come to a common ground on it. She can’t talk what’s so ever not sure if it’s because of her diagnosis or the medication she currently on but she can still let you know things for example if she’s hungry she would go climb in her high chair, she’s tired she’ll grab your hand into her room and climb in her bed, she doesn’t want it she hand it back to you so for and so on.

I personally feel like even though she can’t talk I have sat through her therapy session on my off days with her speech and OT therapist and I’m confident that she could go to school and still do the things that’s given to her. She never is around other kids her age beside her cousin but that’s sometimes often. Also because when me and her father was in high school we had special needs classes we would help out in or play with kids in the younger grade and do just fine at school. We got a letter in the mail from our local county that’s basically saying it’s time for school come have the meeting so we can see where your child is at!

His problem is he doesn’t want her to do school what’s so ever or even go to the meeting because she can’t talk he said he doesn’t feel comfortable about it ( which I understand completely) but his mother stays a hour away and she’s gone a week or two a time depending on if she has a sitter or if she has days off. And he use to have a problem with that but got over it after a while of being down there often. I feel like he should do the same with the school-I backed off from the daycare situation a medical daycare at that but schooling for my daughter is where I draw the line and I can be “ childish and dramatic” for being pissed because I honestly don’t trust that he will wake up in the mornings and “school” our daughter then turn around and work a night shift

So I’m here to get the best advice,Opinions or suggestion I can’t get because I am literally stumped on what I can do on this situation. I would really appreciate it and I would answer any questions you may have. We’re having the conversation again tonight and I just want to make sure I’m being level headed and mature about this
