FILL ME IN 🆘 car seat safety
FTM here 👋🏽
I need some help/guidance/advice from you experienced mommas out there or even certified car seat technicians (CPST).
I need some tips/pointers on the correct positioning of the infant car seat straps & chest clip!
My daughter will be turning 6 months old on December 22nd and just recently (the last few weeks), I’ve had to readjust her car seat straps because she has grown longer. I felt they needed to be readjusted because she would scream everytime she was put in the car seat and strapped in- plus she looked completely awkward and uncomfortable. So I kept the strap covers on that came on the car seat straps BUT I took out the head support/body insert thinking maybe that was the issue and bought one that no longer had the body insert & included two head supports (one inside of the other one- both together for preemie/newborn/smaller heads needing extra support; the larger outer one for normal size heads or just needing regular support). Once I installed the new insert, I didn’t like that she didn’t have any support where her shoulders sit and where her knees lay. So I removed the new insert/support, packaged it back up the same way I bought it (kept the strap covers right in the packaging), and put the manufacturer insert back in. And I’m so happy I did that because it wasn’t until this past Sunday December 9th that I learned you can NOT add anything to the car seat that didn’t come from the manufacturer! Glad I trusted my momma instinct 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Below are pictures of the travel system with the infant car seat my daughter has (Urbini Turni 3-in-1) , as well as the “aftermarket” head support insert I purchased (GO by Goldbug Floral Duo Car Seat Head Support and Strap Set). I’m also including pictures of (proper) car seat safety I have come across from a few posts on here recently!
Thank You ladies KINDLY in advance 🥰
