My MIL Hates Me! 🙊

I’ve been with my fiancé for 4 years in January. Me and his mom have never gotten along well for some reason. She has never treated me like part of the family even though I care for his daughter from a past relationship and we have a daughter that will be 1 in January.

My fiancé asked her why she doesn’t like me and she said that I’m rude and I act like I don’t like her. I have been nothing but nice to her. I sit and chat with her when we visit, I send her pictures of the kids, I invite her places, etc.

Recently she called my FIL, whom she is divorced, to ask him what he thought about me. My FIL loves me. We have a great relationship. I even call him dad. Lol. Which he told her. She apparently ranted to him about how I’m rude and I hate her and all of this different stuff.

I have no clue why she feels this way! I treat my FIL and MIL the exact same but he loves me and she hates me. 😭 After she told my fiancé she thinks I’m rude I went out of my way to be extra extra nice but I think it just made it worse. I want to have a good relationship with my MIL but it seems like a lost cause.

Her dislike for me has extended to my daughter as well. She treats his oldest like a princess but has nothing to do with my daughter. 😒 And when she does see her she doesn’t listen to any of my rules/instructions about feeding and nap time.

The last time she watched her was when she was about 4 months old. Me and my fiancé got there to pick her up and she was laying half in/half out of her car seat screaming and my MIL was in a different room. Of course we were both furious so my fiancé told me we weren’t going to let her watch her anymore.

Has anyone else been through this? What can I do? Should I even try to fix it or just not worry about it?
