My husband won't buy a new washer

Roughly a month ago our washer broke. It won't spin or drain. His stepdad was going to have a friend come take a look at it and possibly fix it. I'm tired of waiting. I have to haul laundry to the laundry mat every week. It takes me about 3 hours and roughly $40 as I have to wash and dry for 7 people. He doesn't want to get a new washer because we plan on moving soon and the other place comes with one. I think we should get a used cheap one until we do move. We are waiting to get approved for the new place so we are unsure how soon we will be moving.
