Was anyone else put on baby aspirin due to increased risk of preeclampsia because of weight?

My doctor put me on baby aspirin to prevent preeclampsia. She said my weight 228 at 5’4” puts me at higher risk. The baby aspirin is supposed to help reduce the risk. Is this normal?

I was not put on aspirin, I am 23 and started at 290 and I’m almost 34 weeks and still 290. I also passed gestational diabetes and no signs of preeclampsia 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’m relieved to know that it’s not just me I was worried that it indicated something serious. I guess it really is just preventative.

I started it at 12 weeks, but didn't think or realize it was for my weight. I thought it was for my age, I'm 36. However I am 5'8 and 283.

Yes it helps along with drinking lots of water and a low sodium diet. I didn’t listen with my first pregnancy and developed preeclampsia which resulted in me having to have my son a month and a half early. Fortunately he had no issues.
I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my daughter now and have been taking the 81 mg aspirin daily along with drinking lots of water and a low sodium diet. I have had no blood pressure issues this time around even though I’m still considered high risk due to my BMI. I’m 5’10 and 258 lbs.
