hey ladies, just found im prego :) it believe only 2 weeks. It was unexpected so i was not taking any prenatals. Can anyone suggest the best prenatal vitamins to take ? i dont know which ones to get :/

I take nature made prenatals. I’m 39 weeks and everything looks good. My doctor didn’t seem too concerned about needing anything extra just because of my weight.

We need extra vitamin D too when we’re plus sized, for my first pregnancy I just took vitamin D and folic acid rather than a prenatal. 
This time I have a prenatal with iron and other vitamins in they all have similar things in. 
I’ve also read yesterday that there is a difference between folic acid and FOLATE. I never even heard of this. Folate is what we need - folic acid is a synthetic version of this which is hard for us to metabolise and a lot of it is disposed of in our blood stream rather than absorbed . So try find something with folate. 
Having said that, folate or folic acid shouldn’t be used as a substitute for a healthy diet. If you’re eating good vegetables and fruit then the vitamins you take are just to kinda boost that. 
However I have my prenatals with folic acid and I’m just upping my leafy green vegetables, eggs & citrus fruit to ensure I’m getting plenty of natural folate too

I got gummies but my doctor told me they didn’t have enough iron. Just call and make an appointment to confirm and ask them to prescribe you some you can probably get them free through insurance .
