Did you sleep train (which involved crying)?

Wondering how many people followed some method of sleep training, whichever it may be. My understanding is that most of them require some amount of crying

We "sleep trained" from the get-go with zero tears. Aka, we actually took the time to teach our daughter how to sleep and we always promoted nothing but good sleep habits. She's always had a bedtime routine, she's never slept in our bed, and I refused to buy swings and rockers. She's always slept in her own sleep space and I never made it a habit to rock her to sleep or sleep on my chest. So there was never any real sleep training needed when she reached 6 months. She was sleeping through the night (9-12 hours straight) by 5 weeks. We did formal sleep training at 15 months to correct some sleep issued we had while traveling and that absolutely involved tears (we used our own tough love version of cry-it-out). But it only took 24-48 hours to get her back on track. It's a million times easier to start from day one than it is to wait until they're 6+ months. Especially if you want it to be tear-free. But our daughter is 19 months now and still sleeps through the night with zero issues.

A little bit. We did the thing where you put them down and come back with a little longer delay each time. So the first time I'd come back after a minute and settle her down, then wait 2 minutes before going back then maybe 5 minutes.

No sleep training, no crying. The longest I’ve “let” my baby cry for is about 5 mins in the car because we physically couldn’t stop to comfort him. He 14 months now and sleeps through the night 70% of the time
