My Christmas meltdown. I can't believe what my husband did.

a little back story.

we found out right before Thanksgiving we had bedbugs. that week was a wirlwind of crazy. the prep for the exterminators to come brought us well into the early morning. things needed to be washed, food stored up, everything moved away from the walls.

(as it turns out the small extermination we had done on our own had cleared the problem up)

I went on a total cleaning spree and got rid of a ton of things we didn't need. I also decided it was time to let go of my journals from high school. 2003-07) that was the one thing I instantly regretted. I happened to mention it to my husband, then he packed up the trash in the truck and took off for the dump.

"it's for the best I don't need that stuff anyway" I told myself. I randomly thought of those journals here and there as the days went on.

since then we slowly put our life's together again. the exterminators said our problem was SO small and we caught it early. life went back to normal.

Christmas day came, we laughed had fun, babys first Christmas was perfect.

after everyone left and baby was down, my husband said he had one more gift for me. he pulled out an old baby shower bag and I laughed and joked about it not being so festive. but I stopped short when I removed the tissue paper. there in the bag where my two journals. I broke down I couldn't believe it. he had gone through the trash bags before getting to the dump to save them for me.

who needs fancy presents worth lots of money, or new shoes from the hottest brand. it's honestly the smallest gestures that have the biggest outcomes.

I hope if you celebrated, you had a wonderful Christmas.
