Confused after doctors

I went to the ER tonight because I had pink spotting that has gotten worse and I was passing blood clots. My pregnancy was confirmed by my physician earlier this week but after the spotting I took another home pregnancy test that was very very faint, when previously they’d all been dark. I assumed that I miscarried. I was given an ultrasound and they couldn’t find a baby. My pelvic exam came back normal and my cervix is still closed. My hcG levels are only 9. I would be about 6 weeks. I’m more confused then before I went in. They didn’t tell me I had a miscarriage but there’s no evidence that I’m pregnant either. Did anyone else experience something like this? I’m emotionally preparing myself for it to be a miscarriage but I hate that the doctors answers were very inconclusive.
