I went to see my uncle an hour away from home. I stayed there until 12 midnight then drove home. While I was there I was texting my boyfriend and he said I should just stay there. I told him I was going home. When I arrived at the apartment the door was locked. I don't have a key to the apartment. I called him and he went off telling me he told me to stay where I was at. He called a fucking idiot at least 15 times.

I was confused and hurt. I couldn't sleep. I cried all night and I had to be at work at 9. He gets mad every time I go see my family. I don't know what to do. My sister is coming up for the New Year. She's going to my uncle's house and they all want me to go. Of course no one knows. Should I go spend the time with my family or should I just stay at the apartment to avoid any problems.

We never argued while I was down there and I never thought he was serious about me not being able to come home. He also said I was disrespectful and selfish for coming home. We never lock our door so if he had left the door unlocked I wouldn't have called him.

Update for Amanda - I live there. I've been there since 2015. We just never lock the door. He went back home two weeks ago and left me the key then. But took it back when he came back.
