work question? Round 2 of IUI

Question

Well, AF showed up this morning. So my first IUI failed. Today would have been 5 days late. I was secretly wishing that I was one of those ladies that just doesn’t test positive right away. 
Up next more clomid and round 2 of an IUI - here’s hoping that this round will work. 
I do have a question, with all of my doctor appointments and without much notice how do you deal with everything and work?? 
I’m a school teacher and I’ve already had my administration say something to me. I’ve let them know what’s going and and I am up front with everything. I’m just not comfortable talking about things that I have to go through.  
I wish this wasn’t so difficult!

I've gotten lucky that my monitoring and IUI have worked in my schedule thanks to the holidays. I'm nervous for January if this round is a bust. I may not be able to easily take time or adjust clients for a 3rd go. I'm self employed, but I set my schedule up to a month out.
it's been somewhat trickier for my husband because he basically is his whole department at work. almost everyone there knows what we're going through. they're supportive and understanding, but he gets anxious about asking for last minute time off. plus he has other frequent routine appointments. so any time he takes could mean long hours another day (or working weekends)

My office has early morning hours. 5:30-6:30am. It’s hard because I have a 4 year old but my family has been very helpful. Does your office have any early or late hours? Can they work with your work hours rather than trying to get your job to work with doctors appointments? Sorry you’re going through this but hopefully it has the best outcome!

I work for a school district too. If you have the SL/PN time saved up, and there is sub funding available then you don't need to explain to anyone why you need the time. It's your time. Especially if it is only a day at a time.

I filed an FMLA claim during our infertility treatments and I let my boss know. She was really understanding. I know it’s something extremely personal, but letting my boss know what was going on actually made it better for me.
