baby comfort feeding - advice

Kim

My daughter just turned 5 months and is EBF. up until a couple weeks ago she'd give me 3-4 hour stretches at night and now she wakes up every hour and the only way she'll go back to sleep is comfort feeding... if I lay her back down she's up within 30 minutes. so I basically just let her suck away all night when she wants 🙈. I know I'm developing a bad habit, but it's the only way i can get sleep.

I'd let her cry a little to learn to self soothe, but I have a 2 year old and he wakes up immediately if she cries so I try to keep her from crying so we don't have two kids awake. I was hoping this was just a phase, but am afraid it's not. she's not a fan of her nuk and wants nothing to do with it at night.

my son was only breastfed until 12 weeks and was sleeping 8-11 hours by then and also loved his pacifier.... so this is new territory.

anyone else dealing with this or have advice?? I like breastfeeding, but contemplating switching to formula and weaning her from the boob...🤷🏼‍♀️😪
