Anyone been induced at 37 weeks?

So I’m 25w1d I’m high risk to type 1 diabetes. Although my baby is measuring on track and my numbers are pretty normal for the most part. My maternal fetal medicine doctor and OB suggested that we don’t go past 38 weeks and are looking at an induction at 37 weeks.

I’m pretty nervous about this... my mama was induced at 41 weeks but was already 5cm dilated and her labor was 8 hrs start to finish (she wasn’t in labor before being induced) 😭

She keeps telling me not to worry but I’m so scared I’ll be in labor for 30+ hours.

How was your induction? How long was the labor? At what point were you allowed to have an epidural?
