Am I doing something wrong?

So I’ve been talking to this guy for basically a year now. We hang out all the time, go on dates, hold hands, kiss & so on, but for whatever reason he isn’t my boyfriend. I don’t really bring up the subject & but I have before on how I thought he didn’t even like me & his response is that he doesn’t want to rush into anything & that he does definitely like me & wouldn’t string me along. Am I doing something wrong & is it a bad idea to bring it up again?
