SUGAR PREGNANCY TEST

My period was due today but was a no show as of yet. I have been having a lot of symptoms all week I was going to buy a frer but I wanted to wait till I was at least a week late so anyway I was looking online and read about the sugar pregnancy test where you pour urine on sugar and if you have hcg in your urine it clumps and if you don't the sugar dissolves . I did this and the sugar did not disslove instead it soaked up the urine and clumped into a paste like form . I'll spare u the pictures but if anyone that has taken this test and has turned up pregnant can u tell me if what I described if a positive cuz to me I would say yes. Again buying frer next week. Also got Dr appointment the 15th so we will see but curious if this works .
