Anyone else have kaiser ? When was your gender scan ?

when did you find out the sex of your baby ? I have an apt next week at 16wks 5 days and I am wondering if they will do a gender scan that day . Someone else I know has kaiser and isn’t having her gender scan until 20 wks .

My doctor told me at my 17w5d scan.  I already know the gender though.

There's really no such thing as a "gender scan." Gender can be determined sometime after 14 weeks if baby is cooperative, but knowing the genitalia of the baby is not a medical issue. If they are doing a full anatomy scan, there should be ample opportunity for the tech to tell the gender, because they will be taking time and viewing from every angle to measure every limb and visible organ of the baby.
If they are doing a scan for some other reason, the tech may or may not incidentally see it as they are doing what they need to. I had to have a scan at 15+5 due to extra bleeding, but it was quick and no measurements of the babies were taken. We were mostly focused on location of the placenta and length of the cervix. We didn't see gender right off, and the tech didn't have the time to look. I'll probably find out at my 20 week anatomy scan.

I also have Kaiser and have an appt next week at 16 weeks but they said it wouldn't be a scan. They said we'd find out gender at 20 weeks.

i had kaiser with my first, i had to wait till 20 weeks i was 20w2d exactly.
