Do you have a crate for your dog(s)?

Didn’t think crate training was so popular until I started reading a few topics on here. I never crate trained my dog, he’s well behaved and doesn’t need one. He had a small one as a puppy where he’d go to sleep, we only got it for travel but he liked sleeping in it when he was home alone. Eventually he got too big and we got rid of it.

My dog goes in her kennel when we are not home , for a couple reasons for her health and she pee’s on the floor . It’s huge she loves it . Her 60 lbs and her brother 80lbs both fit in it (they were willingly both playing in there I just took a pic and the fluff is a destroyed bed she ate lol)

Nope. Never even thought about getting one. My dog goes to sleep as soon as I leave the house and only wakes up when I get home. He’s never destroyed or chewed anything in the house so I don’t see the point in getting one. If anything being trapped in a small space will just freak him out 🤷🏼‍♀️

We didn’t crate train our first dog but crate trained our second as a pup and it was a godsend. She’s only in it at night, but she will willingly go and put herself in there if she’s scared or wants to go to bed, it’s her safe space. I wish we had trained our first as he’s quite an insecure dog and he panics easily. I wish he had a “safe” place to go when he feels anxious, he just runs back and forth whimpering. When used properly, crates are not cruel at all

Crate training is super useful. I HAVE to do it, because one of my dogs chewed my dryer cord, floors, and wall, BUT it really has a lot of benefits. I’d suggest doing some more research on the benefits of it.

We crate trained from when our dog was a puppy because we didn’t want him getting into things when we go out.. basically we just made sure he knew it was his bed and wasn’t a punishment.. if I tell him to go to bed he goes right in and lays down and doesn’t make a fuss

We got a crate for our lab mix because she wouldn’t use puppy pads and eventually started chewing the crown molding in our bathroom. She ate other things too. Shoes, barbies, belts, hats. So anytime we leave or at night she’s in the bathroom or kennel.

We have one that we leave open for our Malimute. He loves it and would rather spend most of his day in there.

We used a crate when our dog was younger, but she’s fine without it now. She has free reign of the house during the day and sleeps in bed with us at night. 🙃

My oldest dog LOVES her crate, in the summer that’s the only place she sleeps, and that’s where she goes a few times throughout the day. We leave the door open and she’ll go in and out whenever she wants and close the door behind her if she doesn’t want her sister bothering her. My younger dog will sleep in her sisters kennel on occasion on her own but doesn’t seem very into it, so she doesn’t have her own in the house. Theyre both crate trained though, and that’s where they sleep if we visit family who doesn’t want dogs everywhere

Uh kinda sorta my dog didn’t like men so we had to crate him when members came over. I’ve seen him intimidate the biggest of men so it wasn’t worth the risk for me even though I never felt he would bite .
