How to keep baby warm?

So where I live it is not uncommon to go down to -40 even -50 celcius. I have an 8 month old and I'm looking to hear what other people do/use to keep baby warm to and from the car. Right now I bundle her up in her shoesuit and a blanket. Then I get in the back seat with her, remove all the layers and then put her in her car seat. I know it is unsafe to buckle them in with a snowsuit... is there any easier way? Lol it just seems like quite the process. I'm missing the bucket seat big time!!

Dress in warm fitted layers, then buckle in seat. Put a warm blanket over baby after buckling (over the straps). Then get a winter car seat cover.  In the car unzip and open the cover, remove the blanket if needed. Baby stays strapped in seat the whole time.

Dress baby warm, have a car seat cover for in the car, the sleeping bag ones. They have the slots for the straps. I know it’s weird but I bought a hefty poncho. That way you can just pull it over their head once they’re strapped in and cozy.

I live north of the polar circle, and we do about the same as you. Dress baby well indoors, walk to the car as fast as humanly possible, remove what has to be removed and buckle baby. We always have a wool blanket in the car for baby.
