I know this sounds stupid but

I'm really inexperienced sexually, I'm not planning on having sex or anything but I am curious about something. I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, I am usually clued up with sexual health (frightened with it at school 😂) but can you get a std or sti from the mouth? For instance if maybe you were getting oral from someone who had an STD or sti from previous partners or whatever? Like can it be transmitted via oral sex or even just by making out? I just want to learn a bit more so when I do have sex I'm prepared in all aspects - thank you!
