I am currently a resident struggling to survive in the SF Bay Area, CA. I have a kindergartner (6 years old).

I was forced to move back home with family after rent increased to an unaffordable amount. I love the family I live with dearly, but they are toxic to board with.

A good and long term friend of mine living in Oregon has offered us to move up there with her. She is a very good friend, that my child refers to her as Auntie.

When she too was struggling in this area, she made the move to OR and has been thriving emotionally and financially.

During school closures, my child is watched by the family member I reside with, as they are a school district employee with the same work/school closure dates while I continue working full time.

For single mommas that have relocated to a new area, not knowing anyone, how did you manage back up for days you couldn’t take off?

My friend is more than willing to help when she can, but she has already given us the greatest gift anyone has ever offered to us by opening her door.
