How long does terrible 2s/3s last?

Am I the only one dealing with this? My son is extremely hyper 24/7 and is only on stop when he’s sleeping. Things only hold his attention for so long till he’s back to his wild bad self. He doesn’t listen, has intense tantrums, talks back etc. He’s acted like this for a year and a half now, and he will be turning 3 in February. I’m really just hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I’m also not the only one to have such a disobedient toddler. I’m also pretty sure he has ADHD because his father does and he’s showing all the signs so far.

It’s pretty normal for a child this young. Please don’t brand him with ADD/ADHD at this age. Children shouldn’t be diagnosed until they are over 6. It’s very normal for them to throw tantrums, test limits, act like little devils and even be mean. This is them learning socially and it’s the hardest thing to learn. This is the age where life changes and isn’t all about them anymore.

Just here to say your not alone. My son just turned 3 and I swear it got worse. He's gotten into this mine phase where he doesn't want to share anything. We still discipline when we are out. I'm hoping there's an end in sight to.

We have a 2 year old that is very rough. We decided to have him evaluated because I've been working with kids for 18 years and his behavior didn't seem normal to me. He was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder and put in occupational therapy. It helped a lot and gave us new options for discipline and how to stay in control.

Girl I feel you My son is 5 and hyper and all that. He does have ADHD though (was diagnosed by a behavioral therapist at 4). He’s on meds which help but it’s not like adderall (is that how u spell it idk) its another med. he really didn’t start all the symptoms till about 3 though. He wouldn’t sit during school, he would hit us and throw horrible tantrums, and just so much more. His teachers were the one who told me to talk to his doctor. BUT ANYWAY if your child has ADHD they won’t really acknowledge it till they’re 4 and might not even give meds till 5 or 6.

I can’t say when it ends lol.. my son Turned 3 in September. I feel like he has toned it down a little bit. But we’re definitely not out of the woods yet. I heard it gets way better when they turn 4. Hang in there!! Just came to say you aren’t alone.
