Will he be early??

Question

I am 34 weeks, went to the doctor yesterday and baby is measuring in the 96th percentile and weighing 5lb 9oz. My due date is Feb 20th but I am thinking with him already being such a good size and myself having a small frame that he is going to come a few weeks early. (I have gained 5 lbs during pregnancy)

My friend was on track with measurements for a 9 lbs baby. She was a few days late and the baby was in the 7 lbs range. Measurements are just an estimate, take them with a grain of salt!

These estimates are kind of a joke. My baby measured 5lbs 11oz at 33 weeks and 5days and they told me that was the 64th %. So....obviously doctors aren’t using a universal measuring scale.

they told me that about my daughter at about 34 weeks and she came out after 40 weeks at only 7 lbs

They estimate weight based on the length of certain body parts but depending on how much fat is accumulating vs muscle, this really is only an estimate and not the most accurate predictor. I wouldn't take that estimate as the be all end all. 
And even if it was 100% accurate, that's still not a guarantee that the baby would come early.

I’m 5’1 and I was told my baby was large while pregnant and I went 3 days past my due date. Baby was 9lbs 7oz. Everyone thought I would go early, but I didn’t! I have a petite frame too!

Yea they always tell me HUGE estimates. I do have larger babies but they  have ALWAYS been off by 2-3 lbs. don’t worry too much on it!

I’m due Feb 20 as well and Baby was measuring 5.5 lbs at 32 weeks and expected to grow 0.5 lbs a week! They said a big baby doesn’t mean early delivery, at least not naturally. They are checking weight again at 37 weeks and if the baby is still on track to be so big they will give me the option of being induced or a scheduled c section at 39 weeks because I have a small frame!

I’m 35 weeks 6 days and at my dec 14th ultrasound he was 5lb 13oz, dr said January 14th he’ll be about 7-8lbs. We starting to discuss the options of being induced or c-section for fear of baby getting stuck or injuring his shoulder coming out which can result in temporary or permanent nerve damage. I’ve been having irregular contractions for about a month and still no baby. As of last Thursday I was only dilated 1cm🙄 I’m jut hoping he comes early without intervention but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen.

I’m in the same boat! I’ll be 34 weeks Friday and they said my baby girl is already weighing over 6lbs! But I had a feeling before knowing that that I think she’s going to come early! 
Just remember, their measurements are all just estimates- their weight can be different one way or the other! Good luck!
