Do you put your baby to sleep on their side or on their back? (0-6M)

I've always known to put baby on their side, but while I was in the hospital with my newborn the nurse told me never put them on their side & to always put them on their back I've never heard about this until I had my baby, i used to always see everyone put their baby on the side.

Me and siblings only slept on our stomachs. We refused to sleep any other way. And I raised 2 of them to know that. They wanted nothing to do with that back or side sleep nonsese

It’s funny because it was the other way around for me. I always heard to put babies on their back but my mother kept trying to have my lay her on her side because she insisted that was the way since that’s how they did it back then lol

My first slept on his side for a minute before I moved him into my bed. At first he slept on his back in the crib, but there were two different occasions where I woke up and heard him gurgling, and found him in the crib blue faced and choking on spit up. He spit up like a lot. I mean, he would have to change clothes up to 10 times a day and I'd have to change my shirt at least three times because he'd DRENCH them in spit up.
My second sleeps on his back in his crib. He has no issues with spit up. He is already rolling over back to front for some reason so I occasionally find him on his belly. I don't like that at all. He can't roll front to back yet.

Babies should always be put down on their backs. I'm not sure where you're learning they should be put down on their sides, but you need a better source of information. Back has been best for quite some time now.

I always put him on his back until around 4.5 months old he started ALWAYS rolling on to his side after I put him down. So now I just put him down on his side since he'll do it anyway

I always put him down on his back, but s lot of times he rolls onto his side. If baby is capable of rolling, they’re gonna get themselves into a comfy position for themselves. As long as there’s no blankets or toys that could possibly impact breathing they can sleep however they’re comfy at that point
