Sterling silver wedding band?

Has anyone ever had a sterling silver wedding band, or something else that wasn’t white gold? Did you like it? How’s the quality? Anything I should know about it?

I have a sterling silver band. It does scratch fairly easy but unless you have it in your eyeball you really can’t tell. I love it, doesn’t phase me much that it isn’t white gold or anything.

I have a sterling silver ring with my baby’s ashes in it. I bought it in August and it seems to hold up really well. I really like it.

My husband has a rhodium plated silver wedding ring. The rhodium prevents it from tarnishing. The white gold was just too expensive in the style he wanted. It's held up well. He's had to replace it once already because he lost the first one during renovations, so I'm glad we didn't spend a lot of money. No one knows or cares that its not gold.

Platinum. Great quality and very durable. It is more expensive than silver/gold usually, but worth it in the long run.

White gold is actually a very high maintenance metal to care for since gold doesn't occur naturally white the have to plate the band with rhodium, which will wear off with time. I'd suggest titanium, platinum Sterling silver or even stainless steel, since those are are fairly easy to care for.. Sterling silver is pretty soft so they can bend and warp and scratch over time but they are a great alternative to white gold.
