Nurse was baffled.

Hollie

At 6+2 I went in for an early ultrasound. There was a yolk sac found and a small fetal pole. They told me to come back in a week. At 7+2 they saw the same thing. No growth. So they diagnosed me with an imminent miscarriage and recommended a D&C. They took my blood to test HCG for my peace of mind (as my miscarriage is a missed one, meaning no bleeding or cramping) and scheduled me for one last ultrasound a week later, also for my peace of mind before the D&C. I was just called and the nurse was baffled, saying my HCG is rising. “You’re weird!” She said, then corrected herself saying, I’m not personally weird but that the situation is weird. She wondered if I could have gotten pregnant again. I don’t know how that could be possible, but then I know twins can be weeks apart, so maybe that’s how? I’m sure I’ll go in for my ultrasound and everything will be the same, but now I have this sad sense of hope. I’ve been so so so sick. There is nothing besides the lack of growth to indicate a miscarriage. It was as if the nurse had never seen this before with the numbers. Has anyone had this happen or heard of getting pregnant simultaneously as you miscarry? Or have twins weeks apart? What is going on?
