My boyfriend and I are even ttc.  We’ve just never said it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think maybe because we were both foster children without family at a very young age, I’m not sure.  I’ve thought about saying it, I feel it, but I just don’t ever end up saying it.

Honestly if you feel foster care impacted you this hard that you have a hard time communicating love, maybe you should talk to someone about it. See if you can learn to open up because that baby you're trying to make is going to need to feel love but also hear the words I love you. And this is coming from a caring, empathetic view,  I was a foster kid too

Well honesty is the most important thing in a relationship. And everyone needs and wants to know they are loved, love should be spread all the time in this world. 💕❤️
If you are afraid to say it because he hasn’t said it, say it anyway (if you truly mean it). And if he doesn’t say it back, I think it’s time for a deep talk.

Not tryna be mean but that sounds crazy.  You’re trying to make a kid with this person but you’re not comfortable enough to say “I love you”?!!!?!?!  So will you two tell your child that you love him/her?  This sounds like some dysfunctional stuff that needs to be fixed so that you’re not bringing your child into a huge mess. Kids need to be told you love them and they need to see that mommy and daddy are telling each other they love each other. You don’t wanna raise a dysfunctional child just because you grew up in foster care. I’d seek counseling for this so that the child is born into the right environment.

Even if you haven’t said “I love you,” have you had a conversation about the direction your relationship is headed? Have you talked about your goals as a couple? Or is this relationship just drifting toward these “next steps” without purposeful choices being made?
