can somebody tell me why copper is an ingredient in my prenatal vitamins?

is this normal? copper was not an ingredient in my last bottle of prenatals. how is this beneficial to the baby? is it safe?

You probably already receive enough copper in your diet that you usually don’t need to have it supplemented. But surprisingly copper is considered a micro nutrient and with iron, is for your red blood cells amongst a bunch of other things!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it in prenatals before, but yes, copper is actually a necessary nutritional element. Most people get enough through their regular diets, as we don’t need much. It’s perfectly safe to take.
