breastfeeding has had its ups and downs for us. Difficulty with shallow latch at first and now dealing with reflux. It seems every day is a new surprise. Sometimes it’s going great and other times it’s really hard. Wondering what your experiences are like...

Better than last time i suppose. But with major latching issues, not producing enough and then mastitis I've had my fair share of issues. 
I'm pumping and she gets some formula for some feedings. She's a happy camper and that's all that matters.
At least my nipples are okay this time around lol

Pining for the so-pleasant infant/toddler nursing phase where babe latches easily and without assistance and I can use breastfeeding to cure all things. 
This early breastfeeding shit is for the birds! So hard! And I fed my first over 3 years! Y’all first time mommies, just plug through it, you get to this point where the clouds part and breastfeeding is just glorious,convenient, magic!

Almost to the great stage. Pumping added challenge and soreness but I need a little stash so we are figuring it out. EBF is no joke, baby stop eats around the clock! But i love it so much. We are combatting reflux but eating in a more upright position and keeping her more vertical after feeding

We’ve been supplementing with formula since her one week checkup. We struggled with shallow latch. She destroyed my nipples at first. When I pump I barely get anything. At this point we’re just doing both breast milk and formula. I figure some breast milk is better than none and fed is best. I’m hoping that maybe I can get my supply up someday, but we’re one month in and it’s just a little disheartening. I plan on trying to keep her on both breast milk and formula for as long as I can. Unfortunately, I don’t think she’ll ever be on just breast milk.

Baby latches great but I don’t think I make enough I get about an ounce pumping between both breasts. Trying to ramp it up with extra pump sessions betweenfeedingsand pumping every two hours during the day but supplementing with formula in the meant time.

Almost 6 weeks tomorrow! We got thrush, but i was able to catch it early cause i had it with my first child. Ups n downs, but my supply is good and she eats enough to allow her to get a great nights sleep!!

I have the same issue... shallow latch and she destroyed my nipples, has mastitis, then now silent reflux. Also I BF and tried pumping, but I can only ever get three oz max when I do - my breasts hate my pump.

The drs said my baby needed to have formula in the hospital so that his jaundice would go away sooner so we started giving him a little bit his jaundice went away but then I started getting cracked chapped and bleeding nipples so I’m pumping hand expressing and machine pumping and try to stand the pain of breast feeding it’s just hard not sure what I’m doing wrong or how to do anything to help drinking the mothers milk tea sometimes eating the lactation cookies other days and nothing really seems to work but maybe I should just pump more and have him latch on more and just deal with the pain

Going better this time around. My oldest daughter had a hard time latching so I had to use a nipple shield, I  had a huge over supply and felt like I was always full and sore and needed to nurse or pump. I had started pumping right after getting home from the hospital. This time around my daughter was able to latch immediately after birth which was amazing, I haven't had to use a nipple shield. She has had some poor latches that destroyed my nipples but we fixed that and they are healing. I found rubbing coconut oil after a warm shower or before bed has saved my boobs and nipples. I have only pumped a few times to get a little relief but trying to establish my supply before pumping so I dont have too much of an over supply. I did just order a nature bond milk saver because my opposite breast leaks when nursing. Hopefully that works and catches it instead of wasting it all in a burp cloth.
