Painful sex

I’m 34 weeks pregnant with my first baby. My fiancé and I tried having sex and it hurt really badly for the first time throughout the pregnancy. When I stood up, I buckled over in pain; there felt like there was a bunch of pressure right above my bikini line. My fiancé pushed on it gently and said it felt hard.

I don’t want to sound stupid but is this possibly the baby’s head causing the pressure and hardness?
