Post medicated abortion

Hi ladies. I had a medicated abortion 2 weeks ago, I have been bleeding ever since, which is normal. About a week ago it was no longer blood but a brown discharge that lasted maybe 4 days or so. I thought that after the brown discharge was done then I would just not have to wear a pad anymore and I’d be back to normal. Today I woke up and was full on bleeding again just like I was previously. Is this normal? Today is technically the day I would have started my period if I never got pregnant and never had the abortion, so am I technically on my period? I’m so confused and was just at the doctor yesterday for a follow up and now I feel stupid for calling back to ask lol
