Friend didn’t call/text on birthday

Would you feel bad if your good friend forgot your birthday? We’ve been friends for nearly 14 years now, and I feel that we’ve been growing apart.

We’re not mad at each other or anything, I just think that since we’re at different places in life that our friendship as evolved naturally, and we’re not as close as we were.

However, I still can’t help but feel bad that she forgot my birthday. I always am the one to try and get together, text to see how she’s doing etc.

Am I overreacting? I’m not going to say anything, but I think I’m just going to the leave the ball in her court from now on and quit trying. Your thoughts, ladies? Thanks for reading!
