Nursing position - long post.. sorry!

Da

Anyone nurse in the most random and awkward positions?

My 2 month old has all of a sudden become super fussy for the last couple weeks. Absolutely refusing to eat (even if he hasn’t eaten in 6 hours!) whether from the boob or bottle. Screaming out as if I’m torturing him and not keeping still to at all. He’d also sleep most the day due to low energy because of not eating enough. When he would eat, it would be after hours of trying to get him to latch and he’d only eat for a couple minutes total. It was so incredibly heartbreaking to see him like this!

First thought it was colic so tried gripe water.. just made him have huge poops and throw up if I gave it to him after he ate.

Then thought maybe a food allergy so tried that.. still nothing but also didn’t make sense because his fussiness while nursing was often, but completely random so it was hard to pinpoint if it was soy, dairy or wheat or something else that I should avoid but other times he’d feed perfectly fine after I had eaten those things...

Also thought it could be gas so I would keep him upright most of the day and burp him after his small feeding sessions and all that.

Then today when I was at my wits end, I somehow came up with the most random position to nurse him in and it seemed to work.. for now.

It’s kinda the cross-cradle with one of my legs out straight, with my other foot tucked just under the knee of the straight leg for support with my LO’s head resting on that knee as well as my hand supporting his head behind his ears. My other arm is holding my boob with my elbow high to the sky!! I must look like insane feeding him!! But as crazy, funny and awkward as it sounds... it worked! My boy nursed without screaming! :) finally!!

I’m just hoping this is a phase because if this is the new normal.. I’ll never be able to nurse out in public or comfortably again. Lol
