Worst pregnancy advice received?

I posted this in the general pregnancy group and didn’t get as many responses as I hoped but I feel like it’s more early on pregnancies so I bet this group will have more examples! This is just going off a reddit thread/buzz feed post that I thought was fun

What’s the worst advice you’ve received?
Mine was “you should drink at least a beer a day to relax you, it’ll also relax the baby and yeast will help you build up a good milk supply”

My mother in law told me during pregnancy:
“You can’t wear a necklace because your baby will get tangled up in the umbilical cord”
“If you feel your baby hiccup a lot it means he’s choking and you need to go to the doctor ASAP”
And then when my oldest was born
“Farting isn’t normal, he’s only drinking milk. He needs to go to the doctor.” Considering my husband farts all the darn time I’m pretty sure he farted as an infant 🙄. Did she not even hold him?!

That you must only use sleepsacks on baby and can’t swaddle or use cellular blankets 🤦🏽‍♀️ if used correctly blankets are fine!

Actually the beer is true for milk supply. But it’s basically a lager and super disgusting (imo) it’s the ingredients that’s in it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Plus you’d have to drink sev to make a diff.

“Rub a damp washcloth on your nipples to toughen them up for breastfeeding.” Fortunately I’d just read a doctor’s explanation of why that’s a useless old wive’s tale—it just makes you sore and prone to infection before a totally different kind of irritation sets in!

Don’t stand by the microwave because the radiation will affect the baby. 
Also I have bipolar disorder and she told me not to breastfeed the baby because I’ll pass it on to him. ( she didn’t breastfeed my so because she’s schizophrenic and thinks she’ll pass it on)
