Has anyone else ever been asked if they'd like help bringing their groceries to their car?? 😭😭

I am 23 and today I got asked if I'd like assistance to my car. Wtf. This isn't the first time one time was 2 years ago at a craft store cause I was holding my wallet under my arm and went to grab the bag. Like did I look that stupid or in need? I had my purse on my arm and wallet in hand and was texting my dad. Anyone else cause yo I feel like I need to readjust how I look in public

Used to work at a grocery store and we were required to ask EVERYONE.  Even if you only had one bag, (yes, even if you were buying one little box of tampons) we had to ask if you wanted us to carry it out to your car and got massive lip from our managers if we didn't.  It was only when customers complained to management that it stopped and we were finally allowed to only ask if we thought it necessary.
Cut us some slack.  Most of us hated working in a grocery store and were only working there because there were no better options.  We were overworked, underpaid, and consistently given lip by customers who assumed we thought they were invalids because we were doing something required by management.  I can assure you, the vast majority of us didn't really care; we just wanted to get through our shift on one piece to go on with the rest of our lives.  Just say no thanks and leave it be.

You sound like the sort of person who complains when someone is being kind and offering help because you’re ‘independent’ but the minute you actually need help and no one offers it you’d complain then too.

They were just being nice. I would have still appreciated the offer even if I didn't need it. Doesn't mean you looked stupid. People like offering to help and it's good to let them
