Question

Who else is trying to go for an all natural, no induction birth? I’m curious since I’m reading a lot of posts from women getting elective and medical inductions. For the natural mamas how long are you gonna try and go? I’m going to go to 42 weeks before considering anything. I know she’ll come before then.

I do not want to get induced 🙅🏻‍♀️ I went natural with my first cause I had a very fast labor, so planning same with the second! And I heard getting induced the pain is much worse... so no thanks! Lol

I was induced with my first, and I'm really hoping to avoid that this time. My OB offered to induce me at 39 weeks due to my gallbladder issues, but it's not medically necessary and it would just be for my comfort. I want baby to come when she's ready. I don't want an epidural, and pit contractions were not my idea of a good time, let alone 18 hours of them. So really hoping to go into labor on own this time.

I'm planning a home birth, all natural! the 'home birth window' is 37-42 weeks after that I'll need to review my options, I was over 2 weeks late with my first and ended up getting induced so who knows how it'll end up!

My plan for both deliveries has been all natural, no induction. My first went 6 days over, had an induction scheduled reluctantly, but thankfully went into labor the evening before being induced. No pain meds, no interventions. With my second, my water started leaking at 37w2d. After trying to get contractions going naturally for 12 hours, I opted to start a very low dose of pitocin with the thought of hopefully avoiding a c section in the end. Contractions started up after about 3 hours, plus they broke my water all the way. Our second son was delivered about 9 hours later without any pain meds or further intervention. Two very different births, but both boys are healthy and we avoided the "cascade of intervention".

I'd give my right leg to go natural but have to be induced for medical reasons. I wont be using any pain meds though and if I have my way I'l be induced with a stretch and sweep and breaking of my waters and only letting them use pitocin if nothing happeneds. My first was natural and second was induced for medical reasons both without pain meds and the natural labour was by far much easier and less painful for me. Both times I felt great afterwards even though I got 2nd degree tears and I think that's because I went pain med free.

Me! We wouldn't be induced here early unless for medical reasons. My hospital will let you go 11 days over and then we would discuss our options. Really hope she decides to come before then 😊

I’m trying for a completely natural birth. I had two previous c sections and I don’t want to risk any induction/medication causing me to have another one!

If my ECV works I will go as long as I can, which at my doctor’s office is 42 weeks at the most. However, my doctor checks at 40 weeks and again at 41 via ultrasound to ensure fluid levels and placenta function are okay, so if they’re not then they induce

My doctor will allow me to go to 42 weeks.  So, I plan on doing that but I think he's going to come way before that.
