Hcgs!

So I went to the doctor in week 5 of my pregnancy. They did a hcg check and told me my hcgs were higher than they were supposed to be!! They were 11,437! They said “you could be pregnant with identical twins.” Due to them only seeing one sac. Could this be possible? Is there any other explanation??
