Pregnancy and Crohns
Hey everyone,
I am kind of new to this forum. My fiancé and I have recently been trying to conceive for the past year or so.
To make a long story short I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when I was 12 years old and had to undergo surgery when I was 17 where they removed my entire colon because there was so much disease and no medications were helping. They told me there would be a 50% chance that I would t be able to have children.
I am now 23 and have been with my fiancé for 7 years. He has been by my side when I was at my best and absolute worst.
I just want to know if there is anyone on here that has been or is going through the same thing as me. Now that I’m getting older I would like to start a family but I don’t even know where I should start first or who I should talk to. I feel like I should talk to my Gastro doctor first, but I feel like she might think I’m crazy since I’m still young. But I just want to know what my options are.
