Rough delivery!

Elizabeth • Aubrey Rose 1/31/19 ❤️👨‍👩‍👧 Baby #2 February 2025

So I get to the hospital at 6am for my induction at 39+1. By 1230-1 I was 10cm. I started pushing at 130 and kept pushing for 3 hours. I ended up needing two rounds of my epidural because the pain was so bad. The second time didn't work as well. I was also shaking from head to toe constantly. Pushing was so bad. I was sweating profusely and miserable. I eventually begged for a c-section. I just couldn't push anymore.

So we get to the OR and they take out my epidural to give me a spinal. That made the shakes even worse. It was almost like I was convulsing. I also got super nauseated. But as soon as I heard her first cry, I started sobbing. I then realized I made the absolute right decision, despite the future pain, to get the c-section. Hell, I'd do it all over again and request the c-section.

Coming off the meds from the spinal was rough. It took hours for me to regain my legs and my catheter was irritating. But as I was in recovery, she latched and breastfed for 25 mins.

Once back in my room, they told me I was completely swollen down there. Moving was impossible from the swelling. My incision is just now starting to burn 12 hours later. I have multiple ice packs in various places 😂 recovery is gonna be a bitch. But my baby girl is absolutely perfect.

We've done so much skin-to-skin for hours at a time. We've also done more breastfeeding, but it's been hard. I have to use a nipple shield so latching is more difficult. She also hates having her arms swaddled during feeding.

I wouldn't change any of it. ❤️❤️❤️
