💄⚠❗ CAN'T GET MY FOUNDATION TO LOOK GOOD❗❕

Question

I have a super good skin care routine. And I spend a lot of money on my skin care products. But still can't seem to get flawless foundation. I've tried several high end foundations. I've tried beauty blenders and high end foundation brushes. And it seems like no matter what my foundation is either patchy, streaky, or just not blended all the way. Any tips?  What's your ladies foundation routines, what products/applicators do u use?

Are you using primer? Are you using the correct primer for your skin? Are you using the correct primer/foundation combination? Do you use powder? 
There are many reasons this may be happening.

I use some brushes from Walmart and I use born this way foundation and concealer by too faced.

I make sure I have a clean face, then I put on lotion, primer and my foundation. I get my foundation from Nordstrom and Sephora. I have good brushes as well. You need to make sure the foundation is the correct color for your skin. You can go get that “fitted” at Sephora or Nordstrom or wherever you go to buy makeup.

this may seem silly and a lot of people laugh at me but only true makeup artists understand lol. i shave my face once maybe twice a month with just a regular razor and my face has never felt smoother and it literally makes my foundation go on like a dream. my game stepped up so much and i’ve shaved my whole face since of course everywhere except my brows lol.

1. Wash your face
2. Put on primer that works for you
3. Pump foundation to the back of your hand to warm it up a bit
4. Apply foundation in dots more to the middle of your face than the outside (play with how much you need, i used to use wayyyy too much, ended up with orange face and flashback every time 🤦🏾‍♀️)
5. Find you a Stipple brush (target, Walmart, Sephora, anywhere) and bounce it as you would a beauty blender to blend the foundation out
6. Take a wet beauty blender (not sopping, squeeze out all the extra water) and bounce it on your face to get any extra foundation off. 
Practice makes perfect!! It took me months to find out what worked for me. And if you have oily skin, I personally swear by Lancome :)

For dry skin, the key is to make sure your skin is hydrated before putting on foundation. Otherwise it will always look cakey in my experience. The other thing is to have realistic expectations. Up close in the mirror, foundation will never look exactly like your real skin, as much as Instagram would have you believe otherwise. What looks amazing on camera could look very cakey or overdone if you wore it outdoors during the day.

Don't put it on too thick. I remember I used to keep layering my foundation cuz I kept messing it up and that just leads to a cakey mess. If you feel confident with your skin then you should try using a light to medium coverage foundation.

I hate using primer Bc it makes my face oily. I loveeeeee tartes clay stick foundation though. It’s the only foundation I’ve found that doesn’t look cakey and it’s not oily at all
