My s.o family is Spanish and I’m just so annoyed by their cultural beliefs. I can’t give my baby a bath at night because she’ll get sick, her dry skin will get her sick she has hiccups because her heads cold. This is everything they believe in this house.. then today my daughters only a month, & they’re having people over and his mom comes in and says don’t be greedy with the baby.. FIRST OFF.. you pay no mind to my daughter any other day. Second, my daughters a month old with no shots and it’s flu season. Don’t tell me what i can and can’t do with my baby i can’t stand this. I’m planing on moving out it can’t go any quicker just needed to vent

No. If people are so desperate to cuddle the baby they can do it at 3am when it’ll help you out. 
This is your baby and you need to do everything you can to keep her safe. If that means pissing a few people off until her immune system is a bit more mature, do it.

My MIL told me to sleep with a light on for the first 6 weeks or else the baby can die.. like wtf kind of weird shit is that. My husbands side has a whole bunch of weird superstitions. Every culture has their beliefs, however you don’t have to follow it. You don’t have to allow people over. You are in control of your baby. If you have any questions, contact the pediatrician. Many cultures have different views on things, but you don’t have to follow it. No one can force you to follow their culture.

One of my friends mil was like that 
She thought she knew all because my friend was a first time mom
She told her how to bathe her son how to hold him how to breast feed him even to keep him in clothes when he was clearly uncomfortable so her mothers intuition told her diapper and wrapped in a light blanket nope he had to have clothes she would even take the baby from her and hold him all day and then say that my friend didn't let her see her grandson
Our SOS mother always thinks they know best but really its what we as mothers see mothers have this unspoken bond with our kids like twin telepathy we know exactly what is needed

Lmao I took my baby out after 9 days she was born and this was summer. And my husband’s fam was like panicking. Really weird shit. Just do what you feel is best for your baby.

That’s why I’m glad I didn’t live with my in laws and my husband has always told them to back off if I don’t like something. You should talk to your s/o and let him know how you feel.
